Wisconsin Landlords are allowed to serve eviction notices for tenants after the state order preventing evictions and foreclosures officially ended on Wednesday. The state is reserving 25 million in federal aid for a rental assistance program and eligible residents could receive up to 3000 dollars for rent with the money going directly to the landlord on behalf of the tenant. The Apartment Owners and Managers Association of Wisconsin have spoken to their members and encouraged them to sit down with tenants before serving an eviction notice. Some landlords in Milwaukee county have already served notice but most are tenants who were facing eviction before the pandemic. People can apply for the assistance program online starting the week of June 8th.
