Williams Bay Police, Fire, and Dive Team Respond to Vehicle Submerged at Williams Bay Boat Launch

According to the Williams Bay Police Department, this morning at about 9:15 a.m. they responded to a call at the Williams Bay boat launch, where a car was completely submerged in water. Upon the police department’s arrival, they called the Williams Bay Fire Department and Dive Team, who confirmed that nobody was in the vehicle and nobody was hurt. Williams Bay Police Chief, Justin Timm, discussed how the incident occurred.

“He was going to launch his boat, or he was bringing his boat back. I can’t confirm which one that is at this point, but he was backing his trailer up and went out to assist in putting the boat on the trailer or getting the boat off the trailer. At that time the vehicle slipped out of gear, or slipped out of park, or wasn't placed in park properly, and then it continued to move.” The police chief also noted that the Wisconsin DNR and their Spill Team have been notified.
