Two Men Facing Charges in March 2019 Shooting

Two men are facing charges for their alleged involvement in a March 2019 fatal shooting in Beloit according to court records. Anthony Sims of Rockford is charged with first degree recklessly endangering safety as party to a crime and possession of a firearm by a felon. Gregory Carter of Beloit is charged with first degree recklessly endangering safety as a party to a crime, felony bail jumping and misdemeanor bail jumping. Carter was arrested in March of 2019 as a suspect in the shooting but was later released without charges being filed. On March 11th 2019 Treron White along with Devonta Brandenburg and a 15 year old juvenile were all involved in the shooting with White dying from injuries he sustained in the confrontation. An arrest warrant has been filed for Sims whose last known address is Winnebago County Jail where he has two pending cases and remains in custody there. Carter appeared in Rock County Court last week and was held on 50 thousand dollars cash bond. No homicide charges have been filed in the case.
