Sex Offender Placed in Darien

A Rock County Sex offender will be placed in Darien in the next few weeks even after residents voiced their problems and concerns at a local board meeting. Jonathan Schaefer will be located on N County Line road in Darien, land which is owned by Rick Donohue who bought the house at an auction to house violent sex offenders so he can receive money from the government to house people like Schaefer. He was convicted of sexual assault of 2 girls ages 4 and 6 and a second degree sexual assault charge for assaulting a woman with Cerebral Palsy and mental illness. Schaefer must comply with requirements of supervised release and supervised released rules. He will be on the sex offender registry for the rest of his life and will be on gps monitoring for the rest of his life as well.
