Plane Crash in Burlington Being Investigated by FAA

The Cause of a plane crash early Friday night just east of Burlington Municipal Airport is unknown. Around 6:15 Friday night City of Burlington Police and fire were dispatched to a downed aircraft west of 3801 Bieneman Road just north of Chestnut street. The FAA said the plane, A Cessna Centurion aircraft departed West Bend with a destination of Burlington. Firefighters on the scene reported that the pilot, an 80 year old port washington man was conscious, talking to rescuers and had a visible head injury, he was extricated from the plane around 6:50pm and he was transported to Aurora Medical Center and was later moved to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa. There was some confusion that Iron Bridge over Honey Creek had been hit but it was not struck by the plane. The investigation into the crash is ongoing and in collaboration with the FAA and City of Burlington Police.
