Mass Casualty Training Tomorrow in Burlington

According to an update from the City of Burlington, WI, the fire department along with 20 other departments and organizations will be conducting a mass casualty training event on Saturday, May 7 from 8-11 a.m. near Maryland Ave. Residents may see a multi-fatality crash scenario involving a school bus and two vehicles. Students from Burlington High School, under the direction of Troy Everson, will act as patients with a variety of injuries in the scenario. Staging of the equipment may be seen on Congress Ave. and at the Department of Public Works. Several fire trucks, ambulances, police vehicles, and Flight For Life will be seen on site. After the training, the Racine County Sheriff Department will conduct an after-accident recreation training on the grounds that may take a couple of hours. The city says that while the incident may look very real, it is only a training session.
