Local 911 Communications Centers Receive Abundance of 911 "Pocket Dials"

According to the Rock County 911 Communications Center, over the last few months they’ve had an abundance of 911 "pocket dials" from cell phones. They’re asking the public to please check the emergency SOS settings on your phone and keep in mind that if it's enabled, there's a good chance you will be calling 911 while the phone is in your pocket, purse, cup holder, couch cushion, backpack, childs hand, or performing other activities. The policy of the 911 Communications Center is to enter every hang up, track the location, and attempt contact with the caller. This can be very time consuming when dispatchers have other calls coming in for people in need of help.
