According to an update from the City of Janesville, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be starting the final phase of the I-39/90 project with the reconstruction of US 14/Humes Rd. from WIS26/Milton Ave. to Deerfield Dr. in the City of Janesville. Humes Rd. will be closed between Milton Ave. and Pontiac Dr. beginning on Monday, March 14 through late August. Traffic will still be able to cross Humes Rd. at both Lexington Dr. and Pontiac Dr. Improvements to Humes Rd. include:
New curb and gutter
Offset left-turn lanes
Storm sewer replacements
Traffic signal replacements
10-foot-wide asphalt path on the north side
5-foot concrete sidewalk on the south side
New concrete pavement
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has installed a temporary traffic signal at the Holiday Dr. and Lexington Dr. intersection due to anticipated diversion traffic on the alternate routes during construction. The temporary signal at Morse St. and Ryan Rd. will still remain operational.
This construction will cause bus stop #340 on Humes Rd. and Pontiac Dr. to close beginning March 14. The closest active bus stop will be at the Van Galder Bus Terminal on Pontiac Dr. If you have questions regarding buses impacted by the project, call the Janesville Transit System at (608) 755-3150.
If you have any questions on this project, call the I-39/90 Field Office at (608) 530-5100.
