During last night's Darien Village Board meeting, the board approved the purchase of some necessary materials for the village.
One of those purchases was a $5000 "hydrant buddy", which will be used to help exercise valves and hydrants in the area. There are some hydrants, especially in the Oak Ridge subdivision, that the village's public works cannot manually open, so this equipment would help with that.
The Board also approved a new mower trailer, that will not exceed $5500, but there was still some discussion centered around the price.
The Village also reached a $12,500 settlement with Curtis Ambulance which will be split among the town and village.
