A Couple facing multiple drug charges appeared in Jefferson County Court Monday. Tony Watters charges include two counts of maintaining a drug trafficking place, one count of possession of methamphetamine as a second and subsequent offense, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine near a park and two counts of delivery of methamphetamine near a park. Repeater enhancements have been added because he was convicted of manufacturing/delivery of heroin in July of 2018. Tanya Barker is charged with three counts of maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia, she also has enhancers on some of her charges because she was convicted in June of 2016 of misdemeanor possession. The couple did have their bond modified to allow for them to have contact with each other as long as they don’t talk about the case, so they can co-parent their child while in custody. A Status conference for both Watters and Barker is scheduled for April 9th, if convicted on all charges each defendant could face decades in jail and tens of thousands of dollars in fines.
