According to the City of Janesville, they are exploring future options for the street rehabilitation project to ensure continued financial stability within the city. The program is primarily funded through a combination of borrowing, tax and special revenues, wheel tax revenue, and state aid. However, the program has recently experienced an 8% annual inflationary cost increase. Therefore, the city plans to hold a Community Engagement Forum to collect feedback from citizens on the programs funding on Wednesday, August 18 at 7 p.m. at the senior center. City staff will also discuss the background information on the project and present potential future funding options. If you have any questions about the forum, contact Communication Specialist Nick Faust at 608-333-6713.
