Big Foot HS Student Charged for Having Loaded Rifle in Parking Lot

A Big Foot HS student was charged in Walworth County court Wednesday for having a loaded rifle in his car in the school parking lot. Kyle Higgins was charged with possession of a firearm, a 22 caliber semiautomatic rifle on school grounds which is a felony, carrying a concealed weapon and possession of marijuana. Higgins was reported by another student to the school resource officer who spoke with Higgins mother and when the officer spoke with Higgins he said he had bought the gun the day before. A search of his locker found nothing but when the officer searched Higgins car they found a loaded rifle, ammunition and marijuana. Higgins is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Monday March 16th.
