Beloit Snappers Stadium Construction Begins

Construction on the new Snappers stadium has begun in downtown Beloit. The construction was set to begin in April on the 32 million dollar project but was delayed due to COVID 19 which has pushed back the opening date. Construction started on the site located on Mill street and Shirland Ave and the Riverbend stadium authority, the group that will manage the stadium recently signed a 20 year lease which could extend to 30 years. The stadium features a grandstand with offices and player facilities and a 300 plus person stadium club that can be used for year round events. The main concourse will circle the field with a main gate in center field and will have a kids playground and an outdoor group area in left field. The ownership transfer to new owner Quint Studer is on hold until major league baseball and minor league baseball approve a new agreement. The stadium is set to be finished in a year.
