Beloit School Board Vote on Resolution Tuesday

The Beloit school board will vote on a resolution tonight which includes requests from state and local governments for hazard pay for teachers. The resolution asks that standardized testing be waived, hazard pay for teachers and requests extra funding for personal protective equipment for school employees. The resolution also asks for evaluations for educators, report cards be suspended for the school year and provide additional paid time off for staff members who have been exposed to COVID 19. Finally the resolution calls on the Wisconsin Department of public instruction to waive total hour of instruction and length of day requirements and at least 4 billion in emergency funds to the FCC E rate program to connect students who don’t have to the internet. If passed the resolution will be sent to the Wisconsin Association of School Boards, state legislators and federal representatives.
