A Beloit contractor has been charged with felony theft after being accused of taking thousands of dollars from a business without completing building repairs. Brett Ehret has been changed with theft in a business setting of between 10 thousand and 100 thousand dollars. He is accused of stealing from Robinson Wholesale Inc after being hired to make repairs after a hail storm damaged the businesses property and was paid 138,231 dollars but allegedly made only 6 thousand in repairs. Ehret has received checks for the amount and then postponed the work until spring of 2019 and then until fall of 2019. If convicted he could be sentenced to 10 years in prison and is due for his initial court appearance on June 12th.
