Alliant Energy Buys North Rock Solar

Alliant Energy has bought North Rock Solar from Geronimo Energy to build a solar farm in Fulton. North Rock will produce 50 megawatts of electricity which is enough to power around 12 thousand Wisconsin homes. North Rock will be located in Fulton on 400 acres of land about 10 miles north of Janesville and will continue Alliant’s goal of building 1000 megawatts of solar projects in Wisconsin by 2023. Geronimo Energy will continue development activities until regulatory approvals and other contractual commitments are met, when that happens Alliant Energy will acquire North Rock. The economic benefits come in the form of new tax revenue, local spending and job creation both for local and state communities. Construction is set to begin in 2021 and completed in late 2022.
