The City of Janesville has scheduled an aerial application of horticultural oil for Friday, May 19, to control hatched spongy moth caterpillars in Lustig Park. This invasive species can cause significant damage to oak trees by feeding on leaves in their larval stage. The aerial application is weather dependent and may be postponed if necessary. A helicopter will perform the treatment, and the park will be closed for a portion of the day following the application. For questions, contact Janesville Parks & Recreation at (608) 755-3025.
